The Langtang region lies directly north of Kathmandu, close to the Tibetan border, within Langtang National Park. Trails follow the Langtang valley to Kyangjin Gompa and cross to the sacred Gosaikunda lakes, while the lower hills of Helambu are known for their Sherpa and Hyolmo villages.
